-Love Week events: carnation sales, match-maker surveys, King and Queen of Hearts, cheesy love songs
- Potential fundraisers: winter carnival, big bike ride
- Spring Fling- include senior grades, open to other high schools
- Thank-you to Mrs. K. Lansens for her guidance
3. Staff Report: K. Sullivan
-Guidance has been busy assisting students with course selections- now on-line
-gr. 9 & 10 will be assisted through computer labs
- gr. 11 & 12 will have an assembly to discuss course options
- gr. 9, 10 &11 received Pathway presentation
-Women’s Centre provided healthy relationship presentations
-gr. 10 literacy test Apr. 2/09- preparation has started
4. Principal’s Report: M. Sherman
a) PRO Grant: has been denied however still have money to hold planned presentations
b) Fundraising Dinner: Mar. 28/09, meal and silent auction
Tickets will be available through SAA $10/adult and $5/under 10
Goal is to raise $6,000 to $10,000.
T. Toll indicated that LIBRO Financial has community funds available for application- information forwarded to Mark [who has already forwarded to B.Pugh]
Parent volunteers required for this event 4:3- - 7:30 approx. 1 hour blocks
c) Hallway Projects:
Tech wing will be painted over March Break
Quote of approx. $29,000 to up-date hallway near office, and athletic hallway
d) Electronic Scoreboard:
Cost has been covered internally, wiring is in place, plans to be operational this year
e) School Bus Up-date MTO Meeting:
- recent meeting Feb.11th, with all BDHS drivers and MTO rep – attempt to clarify role / limitations of teacher / driver’s and the times and conditions constituting “on-duty”.
