3. Student Report: Shawn Cartier
-Annual fundraiser dinner raised approx. $4500- $4600.
- Teacher/grad baseball being planned
-Athletic banquet June/09
-Board with student team pictures on display
-Scoreboard is operational
- Badminton tournament this weekend
-Track, rugby and soccer on-going
-Spring Fling May 8/09- open to all students

a) Staffing/CL (curriculum leaders) positions: all CL positions have been filled
Gil Bureau retiring next year will be replaced by Jim Johnson
Secondary school enrollment is down
b) Fundraising: Scoreboard up-date – operational, should be paid for this year
Chocolate bar sales through Student Council were the most effective fundraiser
c) Education Week Brochure: sample circulated
-comments: too busy, thin out text, brighter colours
- 3000 to be printed approx. cost $1000.
d) Hall Art: continuous- approx. 6 more panels completed
e) OSSLT: Literacy testing- Student Services and LC took more of a leadership role in
the structure
f) Capital Items: items have been ordered and are 75% in
g) Mid-term Reports: Handed out Apr. 24/09 in home rooms
h) Parent’s Night: Apr. 28/09 5:30 to 7:30, Mark has ordered hats for this event
6. Internet Safety/ Media Violence : M.

Conflict with date, Mark will check date availability with presenters
Jane will notify other schools when date is confirmed
Internet Safety could be presented to the students in the spring and fall to the parents and feeder schools
Refreshments: cookies and drink to be served in the cafeteria
7. Correspondence: J. Cartier
Grad/Parent Info night- to be held in Oct/09 for grade 11 and 12 students and parents
Possibility of kiosks and 3 or 4 individual sessions around workplace, apprenticeship,
college and university, as well as application processes for scholarships etc.
8. Health and Safety: M. Sherman
Tech Equipment Audit- external company conducting this audit, report available next week
9. Special Education: M. Sherman
PEOP course- similar to a leadership course- integrates Special Ed. Students with main- stream students
10. Up-Coming Events:
-School Chairs/Budget meeting Apr. 16/09- Mark and Jane will be not be attending
-May 14/09- Talent Show- in-house- currently soliciting talent acts
