Study Habits
If you are
having problems studying, use these tips to help you through your troubles.
Proper Lighting –
Proper lighting is essential when studying. Make sure you have bright lighting
all around you, but not directly in your eyes. Make sure it’s not too dim or it
might make you tired.
No Distractions –
While studying there shouldn’t be any distractions. Make sure the T.V. is off
and the door is shut to keep younger siblings out. Tell your parents to leave
you alone while you’re studying.
Favourite Music – Listen to your
favourite music while you study. Make sure it’s not too loud, but loud enough
to enjoy it.

Comfortable Study Area
– When studying you should make sure you’re comfortable. Make sure you’re chair
is padded and at a comfortable height. You must also make sure the temperature
is comfortable.
Clean Area/Desk – To study you
must have a clean area to work. Make sure your desk isn’t cluttered with papers
or anything else that doesn’t need to be there. Make sure your floor isn’t
covered with clothes so that you can move around freely.

Group Studying – When in a
study group, it’s a good idea to be in a group with people you can work with.
They should care about the class and want to pass as much as you do. Be sure it
is people you can relate and talk to.
Appropriate Time
– Studying late at night or too early in the morning is harder because your
brain isn’t working as well as it should. Do it when you get home from school
or after supper.
Get a Tutor – If needed you
may want to hire a tutor. It is a good idea to hire one if you don’t understand
the work or you need extra help. It is a good idea to find a tutor close to
your age because you will be able to talk and relate to them better.
Have a Drink/Snack
– It is not a good idea to study on an empty stomach, because your brain will
be more focused on eating than concentrating. Always have a drink with you
incase you get thirsty.

Study Materials – Don’t even try
studying without the proper materials. Make sure you have all of the books you
need, blank paper, writing utensils and any special items for certain classes.
We
hope these tips may have helped you because they have certainly helped us.
